This year marks the final year of Equinet’s current Strategic Plan that has guided the work of the Network since 2015. Therefore, in 2018 the Executive Board has embarked on the journey towards proposing and delivering a new Strategic Plan for our European Network for the period 2019-2022.

Summary
Members of the Equinet secretariat and seven members of the Equinet cluster on Quasi-Judicial Functions were hosted by the Bulgarian Commission for the Protection from Discrimination in Sofia on 31 May 2017. The purpose of the visit was to observe the procedures of the Bulgarian Commission, which has one of the most formal quasi-judicial procedures within Equinet’s membership.
Members of the Equinet secretariat and seven members of the Equinet cluster on Quasi-Judicial Functions will hosted by the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights in Utrecht on 29 November 2017. The purpose of the visit was to observe the procedures of the Netherlands Institute.

Equinet 2017 Board Elections
The 9 members of the next Equinet Board will be elected for a two-year mandate (October 2017-October 2019) by the Equinet Members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 11th October 2017 in Brussels.

Board Members’ Tasks
- Continued and pro-active involvement in the development and implementation of Equinet strategies and activities, overseeing of the Equinet budget and the work of the Secretariat.
- To attend Board meetings. Four Board meetings take place in Brussels or other European cities each year.
- To attend and actively participate in Equinet Annual General Meetings (AGM).
- To actively participate in selected Equinet conferences, seminars, trainings and/or working group(s).
- To provide feedback on regular requests and consultations circulated by the Chair or Equinet Secretariat between Board meetings throughout the year

Equinet Annual General Meeting 2017

Equinet turns 10 this year! This has been cause for celebration and reflection throughout the year, especially at our anniversary conference, held on Tuesday 10 October.
The General Assembly of Equinet Members met in Brussels, Belgium on 11 October for the 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM), and brought together heads and senior management representatives from all Equinet member national equality bodies.
The third meeting of the Evaluation Lab took place on 19th September 2016. It was hosted by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in London, Great Britain.
