In the Grand Chamber Judgment in the case of Delfi AS v. Estonia (application no. 64569/09) dated 16 June 2015, the European Court of Human Rights found by fifteen votes to two, that there had been no violation of Article 10 (freedom of expression) of the European Convention on Human Rights.

On 26th of June 2015, Equinet supported the initiative of the German Equality Body and Equinet Member Federal Anti-discrimination Agency (FADA) to raise public awareness on the so-called Horizontal Directive and to call on the German Federal Government to take actions towards unblocking the Directive’s proposal in the EU Council.
Equality Bodies (EBs) have a significant contribution to make in ensuring the effective implementation of the National Roma Integration Strategies (NRIS) and the Racial Equality Directive 2000/43 (RED). This paper, by the European Roma Information Office (ERIO), is based on three workshops organised by ERIO with equality bodies from 20 member states. It outlines the role of Equality Bodies for an effective implementation of the National Roma Integration Strategies (NRIS) and the Racial Equality Directive (RED), as well as key challenges and potential solutions and recommendations to effectively protecting Roma against discrimination. Finally, it outlines good practices by Equality Bodies in effectively addressing Roma discrimination which have been elaborated during the workshops.
