In collaboration with many celebrities from film industry, literature, music industry and politics, the Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency (FADA) has launched a number of events and initiatives to kick-off the thematic year entitled ‘Prime-age’. Always’.
An opinion poll, recently conducted by Forsa upon request by the FADA, showed that one out of five Germans has already experienced age discrimination – even in spite of the fact that discrimination on grounds of age has been prohibited by law in Germany.
A large number of celebrities provide support to the FADA in its thematic year. The musician Peter Maffay, the actresses Uschi Glas, Maren Kroymann, Liz Baffoe, the actor Axel Pape, the journalist Sven Kuntze and the gerontopsychiatrist Professor Dr. Rolf-Dieter Hirsch will actively take part in the upcoming events in their capacity as ambassadors. In cooperation with these supporters, the head of the FADA, Mrs Christine Luders, appeals for increased efforts so that people of all age groups may have equal opportunities of participation in society.
