The European Network Against Racism (ENAR) launched its 2011 online survey on Equality in Employment!
The theme is ‘Reasonable accommodation of cultural diversity in the workplace‘.
Reasonable accommodation includes any adjustment to the work environment that will enable a worker with a minority cultural/religious background to perform essential job functions on an equal basis with others. For instance, we define reasonable accommodation as leave for religious festivities, possibility to pray in the workplace, dress-code adaptation (possibility to wear religious symbols), dietary adaptation (alternative menu at the canteen), among others.
The aim of the survey is to identify good practices, compare the situation in different countries and compare perspectives from different stakeholders on the issue.
